Obituary for Terry L. Ryba

Terry was born on April 10, 1961 in Dearborn, Michigan, the eldest child of Leon and Nancy Ryba. Following graduation from Farmington High School, Terry attended Lawrence Tech, where he was reconnected with Lori Zaguroli. The couple married on June 15, 1984 at Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington and settled in Milford in 1990. Terry earned three degrees from Lawrence Tech, including a Masters in Energy Management while working full time and enjoying his growing family. A family of strong faith, they were active parishioners of St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows in Milford.

Terry was well known for his vibrant, stoic and positive nature. He had a strong work ethic and always strived for perfection. These qualities suited him well for his chosen careers in engineering. Terry possessed an unbelievable strength and grace which could be seen after his cancer diagnosis in August of 2014— he remained positive, never complained and often prayed for his family, not himself. He continued working for as long as he could while undergoing treatments.

Terry excelled at anything he put his mind to from fixing cars, to finances, golf, tennis, biking, and skiing. He was a natural at everything he tried. Most of all, Terry loved to spend time with his family at Kensington Metropark - enjoying kayaking, running, cross country skiing, sunsets, and enjoying the serenity of nature.

Terry’s greatest joys in life were being a husband and father. He will be especially missed by Lori, his loving wife of 33 years; his beloved daughters, Michelle (Andy) Kolp and Andrea (Max Albulov) Ryba; his dear grandchildren, Alina and Winston Kolp; parents, Leon and Nancy Ryba; sister, Jackie (Randy) Beiser; nephew, Ryan Beiser; mother-in-law, Anita Zaguroli, sister-in-laws, Carol Wolfhagen (Bjorn), Deb Harvey; brother-in-law, Wayne Zaguroli as well as many extended family members, dear friends and his feline companion, Seeka.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11:30 AM. Fr. Gordon Judd to officiate. Friends and family may visit beginning at 10:30 AM.
