Obituary for Alexander A. Auda

Alexander A. Auda, a resident of Milford, and formerly of Redford Twp., passed away in the care of his family October 21, 2012. He was 86 years old.

Born June 11, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, Alexander was the son of Phillip A. Auda and Louise (nee Krummenacher) Kruzich. Alexander was raised in the Detroit community.

In the fall of 1944, at the age of 18, Alexander was enlisted into the United States Army and served overseas for two years as the Communications Chief of the 242nd Infantry. Following his brave dedication to the defense of our country, Alexander went on to serve his community as a Senior Engineering Technician with Detroit Edison. Alexander retired from Detroit Edison after a long career spanning fifty-and-a-half years. Alexander continued to serve his community as a Reserve Police Officer in Redford Twp. He retired as Lieutenant after 20 years.

On June 20, 1953, Alexander married Elizabeth, the love of his life. They made their home together and were blessed by the births of their daughters Lynne, Judy and Sharon who were raised in Redford Twp. After their girls were raised, Alexander and Betty moved to Milford Twp. where they lived for 23 years.
Alexander was an avid Ham radio operator. So fervent was his passion that he built tower in his own backyard so that he could continue his broadcasts.

Alexander was preceded in death by Elizabeth �Betty� Auda, his beloved wife of 46 years.
In addition to his three daughters Lynne Auda, Judy Hewelt, and Sharon (David) Lehr, Alexander is survived by his grandchildren Nicole, Cara, Ryan and Matthew. Extended family and many friends join in mourning his passing and giving thanks to God for his life among them.

Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Thursday at 7 PM. Friends may visit Wednesday 5:30 - 9 PM & Thursday 2 - 9 PM.
