Obituary for Alexander M. Terpe

Alexander M. Terpe was one of six children born to Yugoslavian immigrants � Dmitri and Mary Terpevich. His father, who owned a pharmacy on Mack Avenue in Detroit, and his mother, Mary, a masterful cook who spoke little English, raised their children in a Highland Park home with a garden of fruit trees, grape vines and vegetables. Alexander married Sharon Lynn Cece in 1956 and began a career in the automotive business. He was the general manager of a Cadillac dealership on Rush Street in Chicago before purchasing a Lincoln Mercury dealership in Kalamazoo. He was an instrument-rated pilot. In 1980, he purchased a Greek Revival home built in 1854 in Milford where his wife still resides.

Mr. Terpe passed away in the loving care of his family August 7, 2011. He was 76 years old.

In addition to Sharon his wife, he is survived by daughter Tracy Lark (Christopher), son Vincent Terpe (Phatchara), daughter Angel Matheson (Peter), daughter Ashley Whitt (Fred); eight grandchildren: Tenley, Connor, Jackson, Alexander, Parker, Saxon, Kennedy and Sullivan and great granddaughter Payton Landry Lark; brother Steve, sister Olga, sister Diana. Extended family, many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends mourn his passing and give thanks for his life among them.

Memorial Service will be held from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, Friday, August 12th at 10 AM with gathering beginning at 9:30 AM.
