Obituary for Arthur Martin Bembeneck

Arthur Martin Bembeneck passed away at his residence in the Highland Green Estates in Highland, Michigan on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the age of 83.

He is survived by his children Bill (Beth), Karen (Dan) Munro, grandchildren from Bill and Beth, Seth, Lisa, Amy, Ethan and from Karen and Dan, Jennifer (Jason) Dameron, Brian and great grandchildren from Jennifer and Jason, Deacon, Simon, Judah, Lydia. Arthur is also survived by his brother Edward (Josephine), sister in law Joanne Bembeneck and many nieces and nephews. Arthur was born November 25, 1927 in Kingsley, Michigan. He was the sixth child in a family of eight children born to Matthew and Mary Bembeneck. Arthur attended Catholic school in the Traverse City area until the 8th grade. He spent 16 months in the Army packaging parachutes before marrying Helen Stroup in August, 1949. He remained married to Helen until her death in March, 1996. Arthur was a fireman in Redford Township for 25 years and retired, with Helen to Florida. Both returned to Michigan in 1985 to reside in Highland until death. Arthur boasted of seeing every Detroit Tiger baseball game on television in 2010 except for three.

There will be a memorial service for Arthur at Christian Bible Fellowship, Saturday, February 12 at 1:00 pm. Christian Bible Fellowship is located at 21405 Farmington Rd.; Farmington Hills, Michigan, between 8 mile and 9 mile roads.
