Obituary for Barbara B. Kosal

Barbara Kosal, a resident of the Commerce and Milford area for fifty years, passed away peacefully at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital in Commerce on Monday, November 1, 2010. She was 78 years old. Born in Midland, Michigan on February 17, 1932, Bettie Barbara Berg was one of three children and daughter of William & Marie Berg. She was raised in Midland and graduated from Midland High School before beginning college study. She later met Raymond Kosal and began a friendship that grew with love and their marriage on September 17, 1960. On October 5, 2000, Ray passed away and Barbara strengthened her connections with her Church and family, especially her sister Elaine, with whom she greatly enjoyed traveling. Barb enjoyed seeing the country and the world and was grateful for the opportunities to see much of Europe, the Panama Canal, the United States (including Alaska), and a trip to Rome in 1996 with the St. Mary's Church Choir. Barb was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church involved in many activities including Church Choir, Prayer and Rosary Groups, Funeral Luncheons, and Visitation to Nursing Homes. Barb also enjoyed her home and spending time with family, where she devoted much of her time to oil painting, gardening, and beautiful landscaping.

Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Kosal and daughter, Theresa Ann.

She is survived by her loving children, Kevin Kosal and Kathy (John) Maloney; grandchildren, Shannon and Ryan Maloney and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends, including those from her Church family at St. Mary's Parish in Milford.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Snows Parish, 1955 E. Commerce Rd., Milford, Saturday, November 6th at 10 AM with Fr. Ron Anderson officiating. Burial St. Mary's Cemetery, Milford. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, Thursday 5-9 PM and Friday 2-9 PM. Rosary Friday 7 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Heart or Stroke Associations. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
