Obituary for Barbara Jean Reid

Barbara Jean Reid, 94, of White Lake, Michigan and beloved wife of the late Alfred for 51 years, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

A true matriarch of her family, Barbara Jean loved to cook, have everyone together, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was born in Lapeer, Michigan on March 13, 1927 to the late Harold and Joyce McCreedy. She grew up in Lapeer and married the love of her life, Alfred Reid on June 6, 1953. She was an amazing cook, well known for her Mac n’ cheese, fried chicken, and meatloaf, just to name a few. She absolutely loved being a grandmother. Her kindness, love of hugging and cuddling made her the perfect grandma.

Barbara Jean and her family spent 22 years in Berkley, Michigan before moving to White Lake where she spent the past 45 years. She will be greatly missed.

Loving mother of Mark Reid (Mary), Robert Reid (Carrie), and Joy Reid (Steve Arnold). Devoted grandmother of Melanie Reid, Mark Reid, Jr. (Jessie), Kayla Reid, Craig Reid, Reed Wulbrecht, Elizabeth Wulbrecht, and Clay Wulbrecht. Proud great-grandmother of Rachel Reid, Jacob Reid, and Maddy Reid. Dear sister of Dick McCreedy (late Gaye).

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1:00pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 404 E. Liberty St, Milford, MI 48381.

Burial will take place next to her beloved Alfred at Milford Memorial Cemetery in Milford, Michigan.
