Beverly Ann Bayliff, a resident of Hartland and former long time resident of Livonia, died on February 26, 2013, at the age of 80.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on December 2, 1932, the daughter of Emmet & Verna (nee Widgren) Ball, Beverly grew up in Detroit. It was at a Western High School football game that she met John Bayliff, Jr. Following High School they exchanged vows at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Detroit. They made their home in Livonia where they were blessed with the births of five daughters. Beverly was a wonderful, loving caretaker. First raising her dear sister Marlene from age 14, then her own five girls while John traveled extensively for business; she also cared for both her parents in their later years. She enjoyed dancing, Broadway plays, Frank Sinatra music and recently became a fan of Alan Jackson. She felt a special connection to his song Remember When and loved the song Waitin On A Woman. It made her think of John always sitting and waiting for her, like he is now- sitting on a bench in Heaven waiting for her. Beverly lived her Christian life and she and her husband were very active in their churches, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington and St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Westland, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In recent years she enjoyed the fellowship of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Walled Lake. She was preceded in death by John, her beloved husband of over fifty-five years, in 2007.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Richard) Frank, Robin (Gary) MacKinley, Jill (James) Mack, Shellie Bayliff, and Sandy Goldman; grandchildren, John (Kate) Frank, Scott (fiancee Lexi) Frank, Erik Frank, Rachel MacKinley, Lauren MacKinley, Ryan (fiancee Quinn) Mack, Alison, Jamie, & Callie Mack, Juliane & Jaclyn Sinelli, Mallory & Nicholas Goldman; her sister, Marlene (Kent) Gray and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2040 S. Commerce Rd., Walled Lake, on Saturday, March 2, at 11AM with Pastor Paul Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, Milford, on Thursday, Feb. 28, 5-8PM and Friday, March 1, 2-8PM. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the church. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
