Obituary for Bruce Malcolm Campbell

Bruce Malcolm Campbell died peacefully at his home on February 3, 2016 at the age of 73.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 30, 1942 to parents James Nesbitt Campbell and Jean Cruickshank, Bruce grew up in Detroit and attended Cody High School before joining the United States Navy. Bruce proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Bay of Pigs aboard a ship for close to two and a half years.

Bruce married Michele McDaniel on September 29, 1972 at Mercy Center Chapel in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

He was an avid nature lover and outdoorsman. Bruce especially enjoyed wooden Chris Craft boats and salmon fishing on the Au Sable River. His admiration for nature included birds, flowers and all God’s creatures, wild and domestic. Bruce held special affection for his dog and companion, Titan.

Bruce enjoyed collecting and his collections were vast and various including Beanie Babies. Bruce liked to play lotto, was a fan of Nascar, and learned to love Michigan football. He enjoyed rooting for the underdog - someone has to cheer them on.

A man with a generous heart and kind spirit, Bruce treasured his family.

Bruce was the beloved husband of Michele for 43 years and the loving father of Dion (Corrie), Bobby, Danny (Jessica), Scott (Nicole), and Kevin (Connie) and doting grandfather of Kyle, Aidan, Bryce, Alexis, Ethan, Merrick, Jacob, Carter, Abigail, Owen, and Liam. He was the brother of Connie (Jim) and through marriage Joe (Janet), Eric (Joyce), Dale (Elsie), and Shirley (Ray) and many loving nieces and nephews, extended family members and loving friends who join his family in mourning his passing while giving thanks for his life among them. Bruce joins in peace his parents Jim and Jean Campbell and his cherished canine companion, Titan.
