Obituary for Carmen Marie Lillis

Carmen Marie Lillis, a resident of Fenton and former resident of Redford Twp., died on November 21, 2013 at the age of 85.

Carmen Marie Verduzco Lillis was born in Hamtramck and raised in Detroit with her four brothers, Joseph, Frances, Ralph and Edward. She married Donald Lillis in 1953 and soon moved to Redford Township to raise her two daughters, Suzanne and Barbara. Carmen and Don moved to Fenton, Michigan in 1988, where he enjoyed being on the condo beautification committee when she was able.

Her greatest loves were her family, her garden and crocheting. Carmen�s grandchildren, Andy, Melissa, Katie, Ben and Michael were her pride and joy. They called her "Be", a name that stuck, and she was a valuable part of their lives.
Carmen was known for her beautiful handwork and many were blessed with gifts of her crocheted afghans over the years. She donated over one thousand afghans to the elderly and needy and over forty afghans to the Beaumont Hospital NICU.

She will be missed by the many whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1995, and is survived by daughters, Suzanne Shew and Barbara Harris; grandchildren, Andrew (Jaime) Lapham, Melissa Archer, Katie Lapham, Ben Lapham and Michael Shew; brother, Edward (Pat) Verduzco. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Francis and Ralph Verduzco.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford, on Saturday, November 23, at 10AM, with Msgr. John Budde officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary�s Cemetery, Milford. Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Friday, November 22, 4-8PM with a Rosary at 7PM. Memorials may be made in her name to At-Home Hospice. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
