Obituary for Carol Anne Heinz

Carol Anne Heinz of Milford, MI, age 37, passed away at home on Saturday, December 12, 2020 of natural causes.

Born October 25, 1983 to Jim and Nancy Heinz, she joined big brother Stephen “T-Bum” at their home in Milford. Carol attended Huron Valley Schools, was a skilled trumpet player in the Jazz Band, a 9-year member of Girl Scouts, a founding and 8-year member of St. Mary’s Children’s Choir. Carol was also a volunteer for St. Mary’s annual festival, handling the financial aspects of the event.

Carol took the skills she learned as a volunteer and graduated in 2009 from EMU with a BBA in Finance and Business Administration, but not before completing 2 semesters at the University of Hawaii, her “almost study abroad.” She was employed with JP Morgan Chase as a Business Analyst in Columbus, OH for several years before returning home to Milford in 2018 due to life-long health issues.

That didn’t slow her down, though, from being “Awesome Aunt Carol” to her beloved Chloe and Austin, and became an amazing caregiver to her Mom and Dad, attentive to every need. Some of Carol’s passions included creating amazing desserts for special days, cooking for her family and crafting personalized gifts such as diaper cakes that were truly works of art. Last April, in the midst of the pandemic, she drove straight through to New Jersey to take care of Austin while his little sister Chloe was born, then stayed on to bond with them and celebrate Easter with Stephen’s young family. Her deepest hope was to return to them and continue to care for the children.

She loved children, was a nanny for many years and would do anything for a friend. Carol became an officiant to preside at a friend’s wedding, and was “Best Woman” for her brother Stephen and his wife Kimberly. Carol had a whimsical side, and loved anything with four legs, including cows, rabbits, rats, hamsters and especially her 2 beloved cats Sophie and Fernando.

Our grief over losing Carol is immeasurable, but so is the deep love we all have for her and always will. Carol once wrote, “If God had wanted me otherwise, He would have created me otherwise.” Carol, we loved you just the way you were and you loved us just the way we are; your suffering and pain is now over. Rest in peace in God’s loving arms, knowing we look forward to seeing you again and getting “a special Carol hug.”

Carol is survived by her parents Jim and Nancy Heinz, her brother, Stephen (Kimberly), her precious niece and nephew, Chloe and Austin, and her grandmother, Doris Welsh. She is also survived by 15 aunts and uncles, 26 cousins, and two “feline furballs”, Sophie and Fernando, to whom she was very special.

Carol is predeceased by her grandparents, Emil and Mary Heinz, and Donald Welsh.

Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Vincent de Paul St. Mary
