Obituary for Carol J. Harris

Carol Jean Harris, resident of Milford and former resident of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed peacefully with her family at her side September 21, 2012, at the age of 69.

Carol, the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Steeves, grew up in the Detroit area, graduated from high school and went onto business school and then worked as a secretary for Ford Motor Company. She met, fell in love and married William Hall and a few years later they began their family, daughter Christine and son Bill. Six years into the marriage tragedy struck when husband, Bill was killed in a glider crash. Not long after, she married Velmer Lemley, a widower, with two small children, which sadly ended in divorce.

Years later, in the fall of 1989, Carol met Fred and on New Year�s Day, 1990 they married in Las Vegas. In 1993, they moved to Arizona returning to Michigan in 2005. They have been married for 22 years.

Carol loved her family and friends, her church, reading, shopping and her two sweet Labradors Retrievers.
In addition to Fred Harris, her beloved husband she is survived by her daughter Christine (Duane) Bonnell, and granddaughter Lauren; her son Bill (Becky) Lemley; and her stepdaughter Molly Harris and her two daughters, Taylor and Bella; her brother George (Karen) Steeves, and many additional family members.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Eleven O'clock. Pastor Mark Fernandez officiating. Friends may visit Monday, September 24 from 2-9 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Humane Society of the United States.
