Obituary for Carole Lynne (nee Oliver) Warren

Carole L. Warren age 42, of West Bloomfield died suddenly on March 8, 2009. Carole was born on February 23, 1967 in Northville, Michigan to Harold and Helen (nee Raymond) Oliver. She grew up on Lake Sherwood where she enjoyed summers on the lake with her family and friends. Carole attended Lakeland High School and graduated in 1985, and went on to become an International Flight Attendant for TWA. This was Carole's chance to see the world by working and traveling for several years. After working for Barbizon Modeling Agency, she made the decision to go back to school and get her Associate Degree from Macomb Community College in court reporting. She worked for several years as a court reporter and later began her own court reporting company. During this time, Carole was also a licensed real estate agent with Real Estate One.

In 2000, when her twin sister Cheryle went back to work, Carole became the nanny for her two beautiful nieces, Lauren and Tiffany. She took Lauren to kindergarten every day and it wasn't until later in the school year that the teacher figured out that Carole wasn't Lauren's mom, but was her mom's twin. Carole thought of and treated her nieces as if they were her own daughters. She often referred to herself as the girls' second mom and they loved to call her their "Second Mommy".

Carole was a people person and took a fun job at Caribou Coffee. This led to the meeting of Glenn Warren, who would become her husband and the love of her life. Soon after meeting and dating, Glenn proposed and the two were married on the beach in Maui. Carole and Glenn would spend the next two years traveling to Cancun, Aspen, Grand Cayman, Chicago, LA and Gatlinburg, TN. While visiting Gatlinburg, she found her dream house on a mountain overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Though she would split her time between Michigan and Tennessee, she always found ways to be with her friends and family, especially Cheryle, Lauren and Tiffany.

Carole and Glenn enjoyed a healthy retired lifestyle together, walking everyday either at Twelve Oaks Mall in the winter or through their subdivision when the weather was nice. The love of cooking was another activity they pursued together; they were taking classes every Sunday at Williams-Sonoma and had also been taught at The Culinary Center at the Ritz-Carlton in Cancun. Carole also loved the sun; whether sunbathing on the beach with Glenn or walking high in the mountains in Tennessee, her beautiful tan always matched her sunny attitude.

Carole is survived by her beloved husband, Glenn; parents Harold and Helen Oliver of Commerce; brother Harold (Joanne) Oliver of Hartland, Rodney (Ruth) Oliver of Commerce Twp., Michael (Kristin) of White Lake, and twin sister Cheryle (Michael Shamo) Oliver of Highland; also nieces and nephews Travis, Melissa, Cameron and Amy Oliver, Nicole, Ana and Jake Oliver, Josh and Justin Oliver, and Lauren and Tiffany Shamo. Carole also leaves behind many loving extended family members and dear friends who come together to mourn her tragic death and celebrate her vibrant spirit.

Even after death, Carole continues to have a giving heart. She endured an extra 24 hours in the hospital to donate her organs so that 3 very lucky people could continue to live.

Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 404 East Liberty, Milford, Saturday 12 PM. Rev. Frank Pies, Jr., Rev. Christopher I. Thoma to officiate. Friends may visit Friday 3-9 PM. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, School Building Fund, 13667 W. Highland Road, Hartland, MI 48353. For further information please call 248.684.6645.
