Charles Eugene Wontrobski of Commerce Township, MI passed away on December 10, 2021 at the age of 82.
Chuck’s life started out modestly in Detroit, Michigan where he was born on June 17, 1939. Chuck was the son and only child of Charles and Genevieve (Bober) Wontrobksi. Chuck greatly enjoyed his years at St. Andrew High School. The stories he would tell about his experiences at the traditional Catholic school often had his family in tears of laughter. He would always remind his family that if he was not double promoted in grade school, he would have not met his best friend Dan, who introduced him to his younger sister Carol. Carol later became his wife of 57 years.
Chuck received his Bachelor of Science from The University of Detroit in electrical engineering. He joined the Chrysler Corporation where he eventually became an engineering manager. Chuck juggled his career with living in a house with four females when daughters Laura, Sheryl, and Denise joined the family (at least the family dogs were male).
Chuck was blessed with an incredibly healthy, loving, and fun life. He most enjoyed family trips to Walt Disney World and cruises to the Caribbean. As his grandchildren joined the family, the travel party grew to include Tristan, Chase, Tatiana, Braeden, Ava, and Maya. The memories made on these yearly trips are some of the most wonderful that the family share.
Chuck will live on through wife Carol, his daughters and their spouses, the grandchildren that were his pride and joy, as well as all of those whose lives he touched.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Chuck’s memory.
