Claude Glenn Pridemore, age 99 of La Follette, Tennesse went home to be with the Lord while in the loving care of his family October 27, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty in 2008.
Claude was born in Nallen, West Virginia, a lumber mill town on September 16, 1914. As a young teen, his family moved to Detroit where he met the love of his life, Betty Styles at the Missionary Alliance Church. They married on March 26, 1938 and raised four beautiful daughters in the home Claude built by his own labor and design. He was a youth leader, a church soloist and a star baseball pitcher at the Brightmoor Pilgrim Holiness church. He became known as a family beanbag, horseshoe and checkers champ. When the girls married, his love grew even greater to include his sons-in-law, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. They all loved him and enjoyed his life stories, salmon cakes and never ending supply of jokes. He retired from Livonia Public Schools as a maintenance supervisor in 1969. Full of common sense and wisdom, he loved debate and discussion on any subject. He and Betty attended the Milford United Methodist Church for many years. He also attended the Forks Grove Baptist Church in La Folette, Tennessee. Claude was a shining example of devotion as a care giver to his beloved Betty through her long illness. He knew how to balance his life with work, relaxation and faith. Above all, he was always on time. Throughout his life, he always looked forward, never back - facing circumstances and moving on in faith.
Survived by his daughters, Carol (Richard) Cook, Judy (Larry) Coccia, Linda (Gary) Herwick. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, extended family members and many dear friends.
