Obituary for Constance Patricia Ledgley

Constance Patricia Ledgley, 91 of White Lake Michigan, died peacefully August 5 surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late Cecil (Tom) Ledgley for over 65 years.

Loving mother of James Ledgley (the late Pamela) and Carol Vipavetz (Kevin “Vip”). Dearly loved grandmother of Hannah and Hailey Ledgley and Stacey Hall (the late Michael). Proud great-grandmother of Liam, Tristen, Jamie, and Haydon.

Connie was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on March 6, 1930 to the late James and Alice Liddell. She met her future husband, Tom, at a youth group gathering at her church. They were blessed with a beautiful marriage of 65 years before his passing in 2017.

Connie was a generous, loving person who took care of everyone. She was always smiling, bringing joy to all around her. She was a very strong woman who never complained about any pain she might have been in. Her philosophy was to “just keep on going.”

She taught her children to be honest, do your best, care about other people, help when you can, take care of your things and they will last a long time, and, “Always wear clean underwear because you never know if you will be in an accident.” Connie and Tom loved to travel. They took cruises to Alaska and Australia, and New Zealand. They traveled with friends to England and Scotland where they were able to find the hotel her grandparents built and owned in the 1800’s. They enjoyed watching Shakespearean plays several times each year at Stratford Theater in Ontario. They loved taking road trips to see the colors in the fall in Northern Michigan or to the Outer Banks and Williamsburg to visit Carol and Vip.

Connie lived a wonderful, long life and was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
