Corliss I. Stearns, (Stanton/Baroski), of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flint, passed away peacefully at Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc on July 8, 2013 at age 89.

Born in Flint, Michigan on May 24, 1924, Corliss was the daughter of Isaac & Mildred Stanton. She was united in marriage in 1940 to Stanley Charles Baroski, who preceded her in death on July 4, 1969. Three children were born to that union: Jerrilyn, Stanley and Charles. Following the death of her first husband, she later married George F. Stearns in 1978.

Corliss worked for over forty years as a tax preparer and bookkeeper in her home, at Michigan Bookkeeping and at Thompson & Lively Accounting.

Corliss loved to gamble. She enjoyed playing Poker for many years in a women�s Poker club out of the home before playing weekly games at Poker Palace in Flint in her later years. She loved visiting Vegas annually and also enjoyed the game of Euchre, Bingo, attending greyhound races with her friends during her visits to Florida, horse races with her friends and her grandchildren and especially loved going to casinos with her family.

Corliss loved the color Red, evident by most of the cars she owned. She treasured her Model A Ford and driving it with it�s rumble seat all Summer long. She kept active throughout her adult life, she bowled alongside her first husband, Stan, in the "Sons of Italy" mixed doubles league for twenty-five years and later enjoyed square dancing with her second husband, George. A talented waterskier, she was once awarded a gold medal in the Senior Olympics. She also loved sweet corn in season-always sure to clean the cob of every kernel, and cherished her dogs, Queenie and Tiny.

A woman of deep faith and devotion, Corliss began her Catholic journey at Sacred Heart Parish in Flint, and with her first husband, served on the Building/Pledge committee to form the neighboring Parish of St. Pius X where she remained very active with the Altar Society, Church Guild and Daughters of Isabelle for many years. Her tireless commitment to the Catholic Parish ended at St. John�s in Fenton.

In addition to to her first husband, Corliss was preceded in death by her second husband, George Stearns; her son, Charles Baroski; 2 sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her loving children, Jerri Baroski, Stanley (Marsha) Baroski, 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 N. Harvey Lk., Highland, July 19 at 10 AM. For further information please contact Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, Milford 248-684-6645.
