Obituary for Cynthia Ann Dent

Cynthia Ann Dent, age 59 and a resident of Milford, died at her home in the care of her family on July 24, 2016 after a ten month battle with cancer.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dana Dent, her daughter, Alexa Dent, and her son, Erik Dent.

Cindy was born in Detroit on April 11, 1957, the daughter of Russell and Mary Wilson Naiman. In middle school she sang soprano and appreciated and loved music and dancing throughout her life-especially the Beatles. Cindy met Dana Dent at a mutual friend’s house in 1975. Love struck both of them at first sight and they married on September 9, 1978. Cindy’s first job was with Chamberlain Real Estate in Livonia and it was her friend there that helped them buy their first house on Orangelawn in Livonia. Once they were settled in their home, a home Cindy loved decorating over the years, she looked foward to starting a family. Her greatest love was having two beautiful children, Erik and Alexa, who learned her examples of love and life.

In her work career, Cindy worked with Mortgage IT (Deutsche Bank) as a mortgage auditor, and loved her job there as another dimension of her life. She was also a trained Medical Assistant at University of Michigan Health Systems in Ann Arbor. In the middle of the Great Recession, Cindy saw opportunity and started her own mortgage auditing company. Recently she enjoyed working as a mortgage auditor at MB Financial in Ann Arbor. Again, she loved her co-workers, and they loved her.

Cindy was loyal and selfless to her family, friends and neighbors or anyone in need. She loved animals of all kinds, especially horses and dogs, and was an accomplished horseback rider. She loved to ride the trails and courses and looked great doing it-always a sharp dresser, dressed for the occasion.

Cindy was a beautiful wife, mother, sister, aunt, neighbor, friend, leader and co-worker, and she will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Wednesday, July 27, from 3-9PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 620 General Motors Rd., Milford, on Thursday, July 28, at 11AM with Pastor Martin Dressler officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Michigan, Christ Lutheran Church, or to the family to be used in her name.
