Daniel Scott Naras, a resident of Highland Township, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010. He was 33 years old. Born in Tawas City, Michigan on June 16, 1976, Dan was the son of Richard & Katharine (Esper) Naras. When Katharine passed in 1991, Dan and his sister, Kristen went to live with their grandmother in Highland, strengthening the bonds they shared with their aunts & uncle and extended family. In 1995 he graduated from Milford High School and began working many odd jobs to keep busy. He later moved to Kentucky, living there for over twelve years before returning home to be nearer to his grandmother and family.
Dan was a quiet, fun loving guy with a big heart. He was extremely handy around the house and found enjoyment fishing, snow skiing and hanging out with his buddies. He was happy with a cold Busch Light and had a reserved personality more calm than concerned with being at the center of everyones attention. In recent years he grew spiritually, making known that although he didnt always walk on the right path, he believed in good and he believed in God.
In addition to his mother, the late Katharine Esper Murphy, Dan was preceded in death by his father, Richard Naras in 2001. He is survived by his sister, Kristen Naras and brother, Derek Murphy; grandmother, Joyce Esper; aunts, Karren (Tom) Esper Huber, Karlene (Don) Esper Siwek; uncle, Tom (Genia) Esper and great grandmothers, Agatha Masley and Olive Esper. Also survived by his many cousins and dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 N. Harvey Lake Rd., Highland, Tuesday, June 8 at 10 AM with visitation at Church beginning at 9AM. Fr. Leo Lulko officiating. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, Monday 4-8 PM and share in a time of remembrance Monday evening at 7 PM. Memorials may be made to S.A.Y. Detroit.
