Daniel W. Falconer, age 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in his Hartland home surrounded by his family.
Daniel was born on December 5, 1955 in Bay Shore, New York, the second child of five to Fred and Julia (nee. Moody) Falconer. After graduating from Long Island High School, Daniel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from University of Buffalo. While attending Lehigh University in Pennsylvania earning his Master’s degree, Daniel met the love of his life, Barbara Bryan. The young couple married on September 26, 1981 and raised their four children in Virginia, Pennsylvania and eventually settling in Hartland, Michigan. Dan’s strong faith and exceptional work ethic led him to be a faithful volunteer at Our Savior Lutheran Church and a devoted employee of the American Concrete Institute for the last 17 years. In his spare time, Dan spent many enjoyable hours playing golf with his brothers, the four of them would travel for the “Falconer’s Invitational” and took regular trips to Myrtle Beach. After his cancer diagnosis in January 2014, Daniel led as normal of a life as possible while undergoing treatment; he continued to work full time and he was able to accomplish many important tasks at work and continued to play golf. Most importantly, Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family and especially cherished the time spent with his two grandchildren.
In addition to Barbara, his wife of 33 years, Daniel is survived by his four children, Mark, Elizabeth (David) Appold, Kathryn (Greg) Appold and Jonathan; grandchildren, Samuel and Jacob; parents, Fred and Julia; brothers, Robert (Carleen), William (Gale) and James (Carolyn) as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who join his family in mourning his passing, while giving thanks to God for his life among them.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Sunday, August 2nd from 3-8 PM.
