Obituary for Daric Ward Westfall

Daric Ward Westfall, of Wixom, died at home on October 11, 2016 with family and loved ones present. He was 41 years old. Born on October 21, 1974 in Detroit, the son of William Ward and Esteva Lee Westfall. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Westfall; sister, Kletha Kitt (Lawrence Robert Jr.) Goode; niece, Maria Isque Hale; nephew, Jacob Clark Hale; and sister-in-law, Deborah Ruth (Jeffrey Scott) Hale as well as beloved friends, Timothy, Erika, Alivia, Jaden and Reid Van Doren and Jonathan, Rumi, Ryushou and Ryoujou Farkas. Along with many others from the Wixom Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and Regional Building Committee, which are too many to list by name.

Daric began working on Quick Build Kingdom Hall at the young age of 10. He was such a quick study, by the time he was 15, he was reading plans and helping direct brothers more than twice his age. He never wanted focus on himself, he always wanted the focus to be on Jehovah. Daric faithfully served in any capacity that was asked of him, whether it was doing Kingdom Hall cleaning (except toilets), Kingdom Hall maintenance, picking up Bible literature or anything else that was asked of him. He faithfully served with great humility and generosity of his time. Daric dedicated his life to Jehovah on December 16, 1989.

Although Daric was quiet and reserved, those who worked with him in the field ministry commented on how they appreciated the depth of his knowledge and love for Jehovah. Whenever the conversation would veer towards the negative he always found a subtle way to bring it around to be positive.

Daric enjoyed reading, hiking, camping, fishing, traveling, video games, working on any type of puzzle and working with his hands, but mostly loved woodworking. Some of the things he made were: a table, coat rack, mirror and bed frame and many other things.

Daric volunteered his time and energy to help anyone in need. His primary concern was always for other people, especially for his wife, Mary Ann. As soon as he received his diagnosis he began making preparations to ensure she was taken care of after he was gone.

Daric clung to the hope that Jehovah will remember him in the resurrection, when he will wake up healthy surrounded by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 1-9 PM.

A Memorial Talk will be held at Walled Lake Northern High School, 6000 Bogie Lake Rd, Commerce Township, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 3 PM.
