Obituary for Dolores Jean Feigley

Dolores Jean Feigley, a resident of Milford for more than forty years, died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from complications of a stroke. She was 77 years old, born on January 21, 1932 in Mayville, Michigan. Dolores was the daughter of Dr. Ward C. and Louise (Jewell) Freeland. At six years of age, Dolores began piano lessons and by age 15, she was playing in church. She graduated from Vassar High School and earned a degree as a medical technician from Albion College. She joined the musical program at Milford United Methodist Church and shared her talents faithfully with that congregation for four decades, playing her last service there the week before her death. Music, piano and organ were Dolores' greatest gifts, which she shared abundantly with her community and church. She played for countless funerals and weddings, for patients in nursing homes, for community theatre productions and variety shows. She was a founding member of the Huron Valley Community Choir with whom she played from 1977-2007. Dolores was an avid reader and loved to garden, feed the birds and keep track of the changing seasons in nature and in life.

She was preceded in death by her son, SFC Douglas C. Stone.
