Donald Frank Sheridan, a long time resident of Milford, died peacefully at his home on January 10, 2020 at the age of 88.
Born on March 12, 1931, in Detroit, the son of Thomas James Sheridan and Thresa Kenyon Sheridan, Don grew up in River Rouge, where he was a graduate of River Rouge High School. After serving his country in the U.S. Army he obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University and made his career as a pharmacist in Milford. He operated Leroy Drugs on Main Street in Milford for many years, and later served with Perry Drug, which became Rite Aid and where he served as a District Manager. He retired at the age of 72.
He was a devoted member and usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milford and of the Knights of Columbus, with whom he served as the Treasurer for many years. He loved working the fish fries at the church and was a familiar figure at the food booth at the concerts in Central Park. Don also sang barbershop quartet in the Milford Chapter of SPEBSQSA.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; children, Jeff (Becky) Sheridan, Tim Sheridan, LouAnn (George) Blouin, Teri Kasten, Rick (Dawn) Sichak; grandchildren, Danny Blouin, Adam Blouin, Traci Merry, Brendan Sichak and many dear friends, neighbors, fellow parishioners at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milford. He was preceded in death by sons, Mark and Todd.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty Street, Milford, on Tuesday, January 14, from 2-8PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford, on Wednesday, January 15, at 10:30AM with Msgr. John Budde officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged in his name to Knights of Columbus.
