Obituary for Donald T. Huff

DONALD THOMAS HUFF, a resident of Milford, MI, went to be with the Lord June 3, 2010. He was 83 years old.

Born to parents Thomas Huff and Marion (nee MacLeod), originally from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. He was raised in the Detroit, MI area. He was a track star at Redford High School.

In 1947, he married the light of his life, Gloria. Don lovingly cared for her at their home until she passed away in July, 2000.

In 1961, Don organized a boys baseball league for his church (St. Pauls Lutheran of Farmington MI), and other surrounding churches. Funding had been made available by a gentleman named Mel Ott (a member of a sister church), so Don suggested the league be named after him.

Don was a salesman with AAA, and received numerous awards for selling, including Salesman of the Year more than once. He was very generous, had strong convictions, kept his word, was a mentor to many, and held to upright morals.

Don was preceded in death by his [veteran] son, Gregory Huff (d. 1983), and his beloved wife of 53 years, Gloria Huff (nee Lundquist) (d. 2000).

He is survived by his loving daughter, Cheryl (Joe) Tobel of Milford MI; proud grandfather of Jennifer (Randy) Horst who are currently stationed in Goose Creek, SC, Becky (Freddie) Dentai of Milford, MI; great-grandchildren, Allisa (13) and David (12) Horst and Breanna (14) and Kayla (11). His sister, Mary Ellen (Donald) Kullgren of Brighton, MI, brother Norman (Dorothy) Huff of Commerce, MI.

He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by numerous nieces & nephews and loving extended family members of both he and Glorias family, as well as many friends and former AAA co-workers.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, 13667 W. Highland Road (3 Miles E. of US 23) in Hartland on Sunday, June 27th at Two O'clock. A luncheon in Don's memory will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the Service, at One O'clock. Memorials are encouraged to be made to a charity of choice. For further information please phone Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in Milford at 248-684-6645.
