Obituary for Douglas Dale Killingbeck

Douglas Dale Killingbeck of Milford and formerly of Au Gres passed away on the river that he loved May 21, 2011. He was 48 years old.

Born June 27, 1962 in Tawas City, Michigan, Doug was one of two sons born to parents Clifford Dale & Patricia Ann (nee. Dittenber) Killingbeck. Doug and his brother Dennis were raised in Au Gres, Michigan where their parents still reside. Doug was a 1982 graduate of Au Gres-Sims high school. Doug's education continued after becoming a dedicated husband to Karen and loving father to his two girls Brianna and Natalie. In the summer of 2010, Doug earned his Bachelors Degree in Finance from the Walsh College School of Business. Doug spent his career as a quality control manager at Kraftwood Industries in Walled Lake where he has dedicated over 10 years. Doug and his family are longtime members of Christ Lutheran Church of Milford.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman. He was passionate about the Huron River and spent his time paddling its waters near the family home in Milford. Doug shared his passion and talents with his girls whom he loved to teach how to canoe. When Brianna and her father would race each other in the canoes, it proved a worthy challenge for both of them. Karen and Natalie were looking forward to more lessons with Doug on the river this summer.

Extended family, countless friends & fellow canoe paddlers across Michigan join Doug's family in mourning and give thanks to God for his life among them.
