Obituary for Douglas M. Edgington

Douglas Martin Edgington, of Chelsea and a former longtime resident of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was 65 years old. Doug worked with Sheffield Measurement in Ohio for 20 years and then went on to own his own business, Technical Systems Sales.

Doug was an avid gardener, woodworker, baker of the best bread and amateur photographer. He was the most honest man in the world and would go out of his way to help anyone. Doug was born on August 11, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio and graduated from East High School in Kettering, OH in 1965. Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 42 years, Sharon; daughters, Cindy, Karyn (Loay) Putrus; granddaughters, Briana, Raquel, Izabella, Gabriella; mother, Lois of Brighton; brother, Dale of Ft. Collins, CO; best friends, David Rockwell, Bert Pons; best ball dog, Miss Mattie and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jean Sr. and brother, Jean, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford on Wednesday, August 7th, from 4:30 - 7 PM, with Air Force honors at 6:45 PM.
