Earl D. Germaine, of Milford, passed away in the care of his family December 14, 2012. He was 83 years old.
Born March 19, 1929 in Milton Junction, Wisconsin, Earl was raised with his brother Roger by their loving parents; Robert Philip and Helen Louise (nee. Bailey) Germaine.
Earl served in our nation's Air Force for four years in the Arctic of Greenland and Labrador. Following his honorable service, he worked at U.S. Rubber in Detroit and later at Harper Hospital in the Data Processing Center. He then worked, as an Accounting Clerk for Wagner Corporation, and later with Hawthorn Metal of Royal Oak, from which he retired in 1985.
Earl was a dedicated father and devoted husband. He was loyal, consistent and organized--he was fair in all his dealings and expected the same respect from others. Earl was an outdoorsman who cared as much about protecting and preserving the environment as he enjoyed the beauties. He had a great love for the land of Canada, a place which held many memories of his grandfather.
Throughout his ailments, Earl demonstrated the quiet courage one might learn from a man who served his country bravely, his community proudly and his family lovingly.
Earl was preceded in death by his first wife Beverly May, daughter; Karen Filipek, son; Joseph Woosley, and brother; Roger Germaine.
In addition to Helen, his beloved wife, Earl is survived by his children; Nancy (Jim) Trick, Scott (Lisa) Woosley, Elizabeth (Gerald) McCauley, and Stephanie (Steven) Patton as well as daughter-in-law Tina Woosley, grandchildren; Heather, Megan, Jason, Natalie, Jennifer, and Stephanie. Earl was the great grandfather of three; Madeline, Kristina, and Sarah Jane. Also extended family members; sister-in-law Rhea Carey, Bernard (Helen) Tyler. Extended family and dear friends join in mourning his passing and to giving thanks to God for his life among them.
