Obituary for Earl R. Mann

Earl R. Mann, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Highland, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at his home with his family by his side.  He was 87 years old.

Earl was born on May 2, 1930 in Rust Township, Michigan to Ray E. and Genevra L. (Dobson) Mann. At the age of 21, he faithfully served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his tour of duty in Korea was over, he was transferred to the Army Reserve, and was honorably discharged in January of 1957. He married the love of his life, Priscilla Ann Anibal, on July 25, 1959 in Linden, Michigan. The two spent almost 57 years together sharing life, memories, and raising three sons. Priscilla went to be with the Lord in April of 2016.

Earl was a graduate of Milford High School. He spent most of his career as a dedicated employee of General Motors. He worked primarily at the Pontiac engine plant, where he set up automated machining. After 38 years of hard work, Earl retired in May of 1990. He enjoyed spending time in God’s creation and hunting. Earl was a member of the VFW, Post 8587. He attended Highland Church of the Nazarene. He and Priscilla went on numerous Work and Witness mission trips in different countries. Earl was a loving husband, supportive father, and a great example of being a man of your word. We will miss him greatly.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Ann Mann, and his sister, Helen L. Nowaczewski.

To cherish his memory, Earl leaves behind his sons: James E. Mann and wife Sue of Georgetown, Texas, Randolph V. Mann of Brighton, Michigan, and Richard E.
