Obituary for Ernie Krajewski

Ernest “Ernie” Krajewski, Jr., a thirty year resident of Davisburg, Michigan, died on July 3, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was seventy-one years old.
He was born in Detroit on October 6, 1944 the son of Ernest Krajewski Sr. and Stella Rutkowski Krajewski. Stella passed when he was six years old and his grandmother, Rose “Busha” raised him during the week. He spent the weekends with his dad who taught him to fish and, along with his grandma, raised him to be the man he was.

Ernie began his career with GM Fleetwood and went on to work with Cadillac for over forty-three years, retiring as Environmental Director. It was at E.J. Korvette’s that he met Mary Macik. He was her boss, but they quickly fell in love and she became his :) They married in September of 1966.

Ernie was a talented percussionist. He played drums for over forty-two years and enjoyed playing with many bands, especially The Great Plains with whom he played in recent years. He loved music and loved to dance, something his “Busha” taught him from a young age. He was the ‘Polka King’ and danced at weddings from the beginning of the evening to the end of the night.

Ernie enjoyed many friends including friendships from childhood. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid reader, loved history, loved to learn, and had the ability to master any skill. He was a skilled mechanic and gardener, and master of bad jokes and good conversation. Everyone loved him, and he will be dearly missed by all.

In addition to Mary, his beloved wife of nearly fifty years, he is survived by children, Ernest Krajewski III, Amy Krajewski, Eric John Krajewski, Travis Scott Krajewski; grandchildren, Amanda and Ernie IV; sister, Iris Nedza; brothers and sister-in-law, the late John “Skip” Macik, William “Bill” Macik, Catherine “Robin” Dockery; special granddogs, Killer and Bella and many dear nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
