GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Evelyn Wells, a resident of Milford, and formerly of Caseville, Dearborn, and Lincoln Park, passed away in the loving care of her family on February 19, 2016 at the age of 93.
Born on January 21, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, Evelyn was one of six children born to parents Irene (nee. Cabanaw) and Raymond Faitel. Evelyn and her siblings were raised in the Dearborn community.
On July 8, 1943, Evelyn married John Wells, the love of her life. In the years ahead, John and Evelyn began their home in Lincoln Park and soon were blessed by the births of their children David, Linda, and Debra. Evelyn expertly divided her time between her duties as a devoted wife, attentive mother and exemplary employee. Evelyn had a long and dedicated career as Pay Master. She spent 25 years with Detroit Bank and Trust, in downtown Detroit, which has since become Comerica Bank. John and Evelyn retired to Caseville in 1981.
She was a woman of action—Evelyn loved meeting people and keeping physically active. She walked everywhere she could and rode her bike distances further yet. Evelyn had a warm and welcoming personality, she was easy to love and loved everyone she met just the same.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Wells; son, David Wells; son-in-law, Tim Grech and brother, Norman Faitel.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Grech and Debra (Richard) Heller; and daughter-in-law, Darlyn Wells, 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and 1 on the way! Also brothers, Robert and Richard Faitel; and sisters, Jean Lebert and Delores Marks, as well as extended family and friends join in mourning her passing and give thanks to God for her life among them.
Memorial Service will be held from Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11 AM. The Rev. Fr. John Budde to officiate. Friends and family will gather beginning at 9:30 AM.
