Frank “Pat” Francis Hardy, died on January 14, 2021 at his home in Brighton, MI at the age of 76.
He was born on August 2, 1944 in Escanaba, MI to parents Edna Robar Hardy and Raymond Francis Hardy.
Frank married Margaret Loomis Hardy on May 10, 1969 in Southfield, MI.
He served in the US Army from 1962-1970 and was a veteran of Vietnam. After basic training he was sent to Europe to work at Nato Headquarter in Paris, France. His accomplishments included arranging for the travel of high level visiting officials and dignitaries. He served in all branches of government and spent three tours of duty in Special Forces/Green Beret. Frank retired from military service as a Staff Sergeant/Adjutant General Corps with an Honorable Discharge from the US Army.
After the military he moved onto starting a family, then becoming an entrepreneur in the Trucking Industry and growing that business nationwide for 30 years. As his trucking company grew, he was able to start focusing again on his true love from his childhood of farming. He built a beautiful horse ranch in Howell, MI, and his family will carry on his great legacy. Frank is so loved by family and friends and will be missed greatly and remain always in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Jason Hardy (Maddison Uhley) and Marcia Deyoung Hardy (Robert Walker); grandchildren, Dawson Deyoung, Jolene Deyoung, Chace Hardy; an expected great grandchild due in May 2021 by his granddaughter, Jolene Deyoung and James Souder; and his siblings, James Hardy, Pam Capaldi, and Debbie Dickie.
Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ekola Hardy; his brother, Richard “Chum” Hardy; and his parents Edna and Raymond Hardy.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, a Private Family Service followed by Military Honors will be held with interment taking place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
