Obituary for George A. Lancina

George Alfred Lancina, a longtime Milford resident and member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, died at home in the care of his dear family on November 30, 2012. He was 61 years old.

George was born on October 21, 1951 in Detroit to George Bernard and Mary Leona (nee Julian) Lancina. Shortly after his high school graduation, he joined the US Navy and served during the Vietnam war. After five years, George was honorably discharged and was soon hired by General Motors. He worked the line for thirty years before celebrating his much deserved retirement. Lynn and George were married at the Main Street Gazebo in Milford on a sunny summer day in June of 1987. He and Lynn would eventually make Milford their home and were soon blessed with Heathers arrival- making their family complete.

George was a big Lions fan and a loyal follower of the Nascar circuit. Nicknamed St. George for his endless patience, he was a quiet, reserved man whose many friends will miss his trademark hats and his easy smile.

He is survived by Lynn, his wife of over 25 years and their daughter Heather. He also leaves many extended family members and friends who come together to mourn the loss of a truly good man and celebrate a life well lived.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 East Liberty, Milford on Tuesday, December 4 at 4 pm. Pastor Paul Moldenhauer will officiate. Friends may visit on Tuesday 1pm until the time of Service. Memorials may be made to the family for Heathers college education. For further information, please call 248-684-6645.
