Obituary for Gerald Dewane Campbell

Gerald Dewane Campbell, 75, of Milford, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022.

Gerald was born in Howell, Michigan on July 13, 1946 to the late Marshall and Vivian Perkins. He graduated from Howell High School in 1965, where he lettered in football. Throughout his life, Gerald remained an avid Tigers and Lions fan. Following high school, he joined the armed forces and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Gerald went to work at General Motors and remained with them until he retired, having spent more than 40 years working as a custodian, security officer and later, in material management. He married the love of his life, Judy Pollock, on April 6, 1974 and started a family, raising three children together. Sadly, their son, Jordan, preceded him in death in 2018.

Gerald also enjoyed being an usher at West Highland Baptist Church for many years, being a boy scout leader, reading, watching movies and always found time to be there for his children’s activities. He was a kind, Christian man, who loved his family and was always very supportive.

Beloved husband of Judy for 47 years. Loving father of Amelia Ely (Zach), Aaron Campbell and the late Jordan Campbell. Proud grandfather of Maria.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 12:00 noon at West Highland Baptist Church 1116 S. Hickory Ridge Rd. Milford, MI 48380. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00am.

Burial will take place privately at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
