Obituary for Gerald R. Chapple

Gerald R. �Jerry� Chapple, a resident of Milford, passed away in the care of his family on December 23, 2014 at the age of 79.

In addition to Suzanne, his beloved wife of over 57 years, Gerald is survived by his children Lisa (Robert) Dietrich, Wade (Esmeralda) Chapple, Scott (Linda) Chapple, his grandchildren Dana (Shaun) Whitehouse, Erica Goethel, Matthew Goethel, Amber (Nick) Gentle, Joshua (Allison) Chapple, Benjamin Chapple and Amanda Sobecki; 4 great-grandsons; sister Mary Lou Wood; 2 nephews as well as a large extended family and dear friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Chapple, sister Barbara Chapple and brother-in-law William Wood.

Jerry was a Government and History teacher for many decades at Walled Lake Central High School and also coached golf there for 34 years. He played basketball for Arkansas State and is in the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame. Jerry leaves a legacy as an avid golfer and a faithful family-man.

Funeral Liturgy will be held from St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows, 1955 E. Commerce St., Milford on Saturday, December 27 at 10:30 AM. Msgr. John Budde to officiate. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Friday from 4-9 PM. Rosary 7 PM.

Memorials to: St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows and to the golf program at Walled Lake Central.
