Obituary for Harold Thomas Shura

Harold Thomas Shura, a resident Commerce Twp., MI, died on October 18, 2020. He was 71years old.

Born in Detroit, Harold was a guitarist and singer since he was in his early teenage years.
He was very active in recording and playing music, recording at United Sound Studios in
Detroit and meeting future Motown stars at live events around the city. He loved the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors and all of the Motown Music.

He loved spending time with his family, taking trips with with his wife, and working in his yard. His home was a great sense of pride and he worked hard to take care of it.

He was a fan of the Red Wings, Lions,Pistons and Tigers. He was a very affable man that took up with conversation about music, sports and life in general. He was also quick to offer help and advice to anyone that would ask (especially while car shopping). Harold Shura lived his life in service of others and in service of his faith in God.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (nee. Pace) Shura; sons, Christopher (Candace) Shura and Cory Shura; grandchildren, Annabella Shura and Pierce Shura; sisters, Katherine (Edward) Castro and Christine Shura as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends and extended family members.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ceceilia (nee. Lekarczyk) Shura.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford, on Friday, October 23, 2020, at 11:00AM.

Friends may gather from 10:00AM until the time of Mass.

Fr. John Peter Arul to officiate. Burial in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, MI , 12:45PM.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a Celebration of Harold's life is being planned for 2021.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, The American Heart Association and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
