Harry William Sager, 93, and beloved husband of the late Shirley, passed away on January 21, 2021.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 11, 1927 to the late Benjamin and Mary Sager. Harry served proudly in the United States Navy during WWII. Following the war, Harry married Shirley Taylor on April 12, 1947.
Harry had a full life! In his “retirement”, he delivered parts for an auto parts store. Free coffee and conversation with the guys. Harry would always ask about others and talked little of himself. Harry and Shirley loved to travel, especially “Up North”. He was also a lover of our Michigan sports teams. If the Detroit Tigers were on, you could count on him to give you the details. Most of all, Harry can be remembered for his deep love for his family.
Loving father of Sandra Parmenter (Robert), James Sager (Susan), Judith Haggerty, and David Sager (Sheila). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A private burial service was held at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan, next to his beloved Shirley.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his memory.
