Obituary for Helen Eva Korzek

Helen Eva Korzek, a resident of Milford, and former longtime resident of Berkley died peacefully and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on October 30, 2019 in the loving presence of her family. She was 96 years old.  Helen was a native of New Castle Pennsylvania.  Helen and her husband John were the former owners of the Village Bakery in Berkley that they owned and operated from 1960-1973.  She also retired in 1987 as the supervisor of the Central Processing Unit at the William Beaumont Hospital of Royal Oak.  She was preceded in death by her husband John who was also a native of New Castle Pennsylvania..

She is survived by her children Amy (Richard) Rasmussen of Highland, Joanne (Timothy) Cole of Port Huron, Jean Wass of Milford, John (Sandra) Korzek of Traverse City, Paula (James) Neville of Marquette, Scott Korzek of Alabama, Michael (Lise) Korzek of Florida, 20 grandchildren and a myriad of great-grandchildren.

Helen was the Matriarch of her family. She was blessed with great wisdom that she shared with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a strong faith in God and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Helen took great care of her church family, and they took great care of her. She was a great servant of God. Pastor Johnson of Milford’s Christ Lutheran Church visited her often at home and at the hospital this past year. Helen had the gift of making lasting friendships with her neighborhood children, and the children of her church. Helen was generous with her time, treasures, and compassion for others. Only “God’s Book of Life” could list the many times that she has helped others with a kind word, a smile, prayer, or someone in distress, all in God’s name.

Helen was also a poet. She published a book of poems named “His Words”. Her poems were inspired by her Faith in God, and written about special friends that impacted her life. Her best message for us in her book is “The footprints that we leave today are where your children will walk tomorrow”.

Helen will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Sunday November 3, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Family 12:00PM - 1:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 620 General Motors Rd. Milford on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Helen's name to the Outreach program at Christ Lutheran Church.
