Obituary for Jacqueline F. Brown

Jacqueline Freda Brown, 80, died this Sunday Dec. 14th in West Bloomfield, MI.

Born in London, England on Saturday Dec. 1st, 1934, Jacqueline weathered the Blitz of WWII with grace during her childhood. She described interrupting school to race to the bomb shelters as great fun. During this time she was also an evacuee with her sister. Later, she met her future husband an enticing American serviceman - George Brown at a dance at the Lyceum in London. She came to America at 21 to travel the world, but instead re-encountered George and that was as far as she traveled. They eventually settled in Eaton Rapids, where they raised their family; enjoying 50 years of marriage before George preceded her in death in 2007. Their favorite pastime together was hiking in the great National Parks where Jacquie was spurred on by what lie around the next bend. She spent her life as a Kitten Care Supervisor, Defender of Spiders and Garden Snakes, Gift-Lavisher, Master Knitter, Seamstress, Oil Painter, and Gardener Extraordinaire. She loved to lavish time, love and gifts on her children and grandchildren, and sing with her friends in the choir at St. Johns Episcopal Church in the Charlotte area. She will be greatly missed as she departs on what she has always looked forward to as The Last Great Adventure.

Jacquie was preceded in death by George, her beloved husband of 50 years.

In addition to her children, Mike (Laura) Brown, Mitch (Laurie) Brown and Karen (Paul) Steplitus, Jacquie is survived by her grandchildren Alysa, Greg (Sara), Todd (Heather), Matthew, Ryan, Grant and Veronica; sister Jill Murch; nieces Jenny and Louise Murch; and sister-in-law June Betty Protzko Belinsky; nieces and nephews Gene (Marie) Protzko, Joe (Gayle) Protzko, June (Jim) Nicholas, as well as extended family and friends.
