Obituary for Jacqueline Marie Johnson

Jacqueline Marie Johnson, 74, beloved wife of the late Chauncey Johnson, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

Loving mother of Michael McGregor (Jennifer) and Christine McGregor.  Proud grandmother of Michael Dominic McGregor (Laura), Lauren Alyssa McGregor, Michael Ryan McGregor and the late Morgan Nicole McGregor.  Sister of Arthur Daschke (Sue), Lorraine Cusumano (Joseph), and Roberta Daschke.

Jackie will be remembered for many things, the most important of which was for being a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She had a profound impact on each of their lives and was so very proud of all of them.

Jackie was an accomplished cook. Some of her signature dishes over the years included homemade pasta sauces, breads, marinated flank steaks and many more. Her cheesy “graduation” potatoes remain a staple holiday dish in our family.

With cooking comes eating, and Jackie loved that, too. Over the years, though, she became quite heath conscious, combining exercise with low fat, no fat, all organic meals, with a special love of fish. And she had a water bottle in her hand at all times.

No description of Jackie would be complete without a small note about her “dedication” to cleaning. Anyone that knew her would tell you she was a bit of a clean freak, getting up before the sun rose to scrub grout with a toothbrush, throw in a load of wash or start cleaning some mirrors.

To call Jackie independent and strong would be an understatement. She has also been described as the “toughest and most courageous” person they’ve ever known by her dedicated caregiving team.

Jackie was so funny, generous, smart and determined.

More than anything, Jackie was loved and will be missed by many.
