GRIEF & HEALING

each stage of the grieving process.
Jacqueline Ruth Johnson, a long time resident of Commerce Twp., passed away on June 28, 2022 at the age of 93.
Jackie was born in Detroit MI and raised by Edward and Florence (Poole) McShane. Her father was a long-standing member of the Detroit Pipefitters Local 636. She graduated high school and worked at Bell Telephone as a secretary.
Jackie met the love of her life in Saugatuck MI on a girl’s weekend in 1952 and their courtship continued as they would meet at the Kern’s Clock in downtown Detroit. Allan was from Windsor Ontario, Canada and they had a whirlwind romance and were married September 11, 1954. Allan became a citizen of the U.S., joined the Catholic Church and became a Pipefitter in Detroit’s Local 636. They bought a home in Livonia MI in 1957 where they raised 4 children and were very involved in the St Genevieve’s Church and made many beloved friends that continued through today. In 1972 Allan built Jackie her dream home on Glen Iris in Commerce Twp and it was Jackie’s pride and joy. Joined St. Williams Church in Walled Lake MI and made many more friends. As time passed, some of these friends moved on to St. Mary’s, Milford MI and mom and dad joined them. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and Catholic.
Jackie and Allan went on many vacations, attended many conventions, hosted many enjoyable parties and had dinners at Pepino’s with their countless friends.
Jackie always put family first and hosted every holiday for her ever growing family. Christmas was her favorite and she made the best memories for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jackie was very generous and donated to many charities. She was quick witted and always ready with a one-liner, she had us laughing all the time. Mom, you were the best! We love you!
