Obituary for James E. Laude

James E. Laude, a resident of Milford, died unexpectedly on December 24, 2017 after complications from a fall he had suffered. He was 70 years old.

Jim served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, worked for many years with Livonia City Parks & Recreation, and in recent years enjoyed his work as a bus driver with Huron Valley Schools.

On November 11, 1987 he married Phyllis Bradley and they made their home in Livonia, White Lake Township and Florida, before settling in Milford twelve years ago. Together they enjoyed the town of Milford where they were great neighbors, enjoyed taking walks, attending events in town, and the opportunity to be a part of the camaraderie and training with the German Shepherd club on Sundays.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved Phyllis last year and is survived by his step-daughters, Sheryl (Ken) Liske and Shawn (Joe) Horejsi; grandchildren, Bradley (Britten) Liske, Chad Liske, Logan, Sloan and Avery Horejsi; great grandsons, Turner and Ames Liske; his Shepherd ‘Major’, and many dear friends and neighbors who join his family in both mourning his passing and giving thanks to God for his life among them.

A Memorial Service and Military Honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Spring 2018.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Michigan War Dog Memorial or to the Michigan Humane Society.
