The family of James Francis Brown wish to announce his passing into eternal life on April 30, 2020, during the season of Easter tide joining his Lord and Savior and his loving wife of 37 years, Joyce Elizabeth, his parents James and Mary, his sisters, Catherine and Margaret. Jim was a loving dedicated father and grandfather that loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed sharing his talents, playing the trumpet and in later years playing the piano. He particularly loved playing Irish music, with one of his favorite family holiday celebrations being St. Patrick’s Day, in honor of his parents Irish heritage, of which he was very proud

Jim was a member of the Air National Guard reserves band, as a trumpet player for 10 years. Jim had a long career working in early technology with IBM and transitioned into accounting until his retirement.

He led an active retirement pursuing family activities, music and travel. Throughout his career and retirement he was active in his church, Saint Owens Catholic Church, in Bloomfield, for over 40 years. He belonged to the Ushers Club and Saint Owens Singles Social Group.

Jim was an active community participant and supporter having been a member of the Kiwanis Club for over 25 years and a volunteer at Beaumont Hospital for 20 years.

Jim was a gentle, kind, strong and humble man. He was a Godly man who loved his Catholic faith. He will be remembered playing his favorite song on the piano, the “Our father“, on a daily basis, while giving praise to his heavenly Father for such a blessed life.
