James Hubert Fleming of Highland, Michigan passed away peacefully April 16, 2010 in his home. He is survived by his five children: Stephen, John, Diane Theriault, Cindy (Mark) Foldenauer, and Teressa (Mel) Wortman. He will be remembered dearly by his twelve grandchildren: Dustin Fleming, Benjamin Fleming, Christal (James) Sharlow, Meagan Fleming, Jennifer, David, Margaret Theriault, Stephanie (William) Tolbert, Kellie and Brandon Wortman, Joseph and Kathryn Foldenauer, and four great grandchildren: Laila, Allison, James Sharlow and William Tolbert.
Jim loved traveling, whether it was going camping, canoeing or taking his family on trips to California and Florida. He enjoyed any adventure. He retired from Grinders for Industry after 25 years of service. He moved to his home in Florida where he loved to watch boats and dolphins from his porch.
James was born January 4, 1931 in Franklinville, NJ to the late Alexander and Joan Fleming. His wife Margaret of 45 years preceded him in death in 1995. They were married November 4, 1950 and resided in Farmington, MI for 20 years before moving to Highland in 1975. He loved living in the country, gardening and giving rides on his tractor to his grandchildren.
His smile will be greatly missed by family, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Highland Fire Department for their constant care and support over the last several years.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, on Tuesday, April 20, at 11AM with The Rev. Deborah V. Kerr officiating.
