Obituary for John Colley Price

John C. Price was born in Waverly, Tennessee on February 18, 1922 to John and Winnie (nee. Johnson) Price. Not long after, the family moved to Michigan. Just after high school, John was drafted into the United States Army. He fought bravely in France and Germany during World War II. He returned home to family and work in Michigan after the War. John worked for various employers including Ford Motor Company, before starting his own business. Price Electrical Surplus deals in refurbishing, installing, and distributing electrical supplies and fixtures. He and Dorothy raised seven children as he ran the family business. Their sons Scott and Keith went to work with their father and are still carrying on the operation.

In retirement John and Dorothy enjoyed traveling the world visiting New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Germany, Norway, Finland, England, Ireland, Morocco, Egypt and aboard a prop plane the amazing Prozo Bay, Alaska. But most of all John loved returning home to Michigan and spending time at the property on Lake Huron in Lexington with four generations of family, everyone enjoying time together. Casino trips into Detroit and dining out here and while wintering in FL. rank as top choices for fun and games.

John is survived by Dorothy, his beloved wife of 68 years; children Gaye (Jerry) Saucedo, Christine (Jerry) Blenman, John (Lois) Price III, Pamela (Gary) Smith, Scott Price, Lynn (Steve) Tomey, Keith ( Brenda) Price; siblings Elizabeth Trigalet and Charles Price; grandchildren Jonathan, Donna, Jennifer, Lisa, John, Sherrie, Michael, Travis, Kurt, Scott and Scoty, and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 11 AM at St. John Catholic Church, Howell with burial following at St. John Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Wednesday, 4-8 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 East Liberty Street, Milford. Rosary at 7 PM.

Memorial contributions can may be made the Disabled American Veterans.
