John was raised on Hartwell in Detroit and attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Dearborn. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in History from Eastern Michigan University and graduated within the class of 1970. Their wedding party consisted of 17 family and friends with a reception celebration of over 700 at the Holy Cross Knight's of Columbus in Detroit. John and Marie moved to Highland, MI in 1974 where they raised their three children; Jason, Alicia and Megan. John taught within the Farmington Public School district for 37 years and retired in 2010. With John's love of history and camping, family summer vacations were planned to historical sites throughout North America. John was a Star Trek, Star Wars and Old Western movie buff, but, had a special love for Lionel trains which he shared with his five grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
