Obituary for John T. Pattinson

John T. Pattinson, of Milford, Michigan and recently a resident of Osprey, Florida, died on October 5, 2016.

Born September 6, 1941 in Mansfield Nottinghamshire, John was the only child born to parents Francis and Hilda (nee. Canon) Pattinson. The family moved to Edwinstowe on John’s 7th birthday. John attended Queen Elizabeth High School and West Notts Technical College in Mansfield, England. He served a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship with the National Coal Board at Thoresby Colliery. At the age of 24, John joined the Cunard Steamship Company as an Engineering Officer on two of their transatlantic liners, the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth. John emigrated to the United States at the age of 30, where he became a citizen. He built a successful career as Director of Operations for a multi national company, building automobile plants in all parts of the world. John married on Donna and they were blessed by the births of their two daughters, Morgan and McKenna. John was a past manager for Michigan Antique Arms Collectors, Inc., an organization formed to promote, collect and preserve antique weapons. He also enjoyed acquiring clocks as well as binoculars, always on the hunt for a treasure to add to his collection at a bargain price.

He leaves his loving wife, Donna; beloved twin daughters, Morgan and McKenna and many extended family members and dear friends who join John’s family in mourning his passing and giving thanks for his life among them.
