Obituary for Joseph Albert Sare Jr.

Joseph Albert Sare Jr. of White Lake, passed away suddenly May 7, 2019 at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He was 59.

Joe was born Oct. 30, 1959 in Detroit to parents Joseph and Elizabeth (Kochanowski). He grew up in Milford and attended Milford High School (Class of 1977).

Joe retired in 2016 from ASG Technologies. For many years, he was associated with the United States Dog Agility Association and AWSOMM agility group as a competitor and a judge.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann; children Joseph A Sare III of Oxford; Jonathan R Sare (Kristen Johnson) of Grand Haven; and Jason D (Stephanie) Schellenberg of White Lake; grandchildren, Joshua Sare of Waterford; and Zoey and Liam Schellenberg of White Lake.

Also surviving are his sister, Jeanne Hess of Wixom; brother, James Sare of Milford; nieces Alicia (Jason) Strayhorn of Novi; and Kathryn (Brian) McDiarmid of Waterford; nephew James Sare Jr. (Christie Arenas) of Fenton; great nieces and nephews Kaden, Kody and Gabriella Strayhorn of Novi; and Robert and Isabelle of Waterford; sister-in-law Linda Painter of Fenton; brother-in-law Lester (Louella) Slocum of Converse, Texas; daughter-in-law, Amanda Sare of Waterford; and his faithful companion, Bear.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11 from 3-7pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E Liberty St., Milford, MI. Cremation will follow.

Memorial donations may be made to the Milford High School Band, c/o Kathryn McDiamid, 2380 S Milford Rd., Highland, MI 48357.
