GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Be the first to share your favorite memory, photo or story of Joseph. This memorial page is dedicated for family, friends and future generations to celebrate the life of their loved one.
We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
Joe was born in Highland Park, Michigan,(the youngest of John and Carmelina's five children) and also resided in Detroit, Highland and White Lake, Michigan as well as Naples and N. Fort Myers, Florida.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Betty Douglass, and celebrated 69 years of marriage. He is also survived by four children; Donna Hubbard (Mark), Larry Borg (Darlene), Deborah Dolkowski (Larry), and Denise DeWitt (Shane), 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Family was so important to him.
Joe retired from Chrysler Corporation as a test mechanic. He loved tinkering, and could always be found in a workshop. Every tool had its special place, and he could fix anything!!
He was so proud of his Maltese heritage and enjoyed his visit to the island and meeting relatives. You could be certain he'd find a good deal when he purchased anything, and he loved to barter.
He and Betty enjoyed life and traveled extensively; camping and boating were life-long passions. He loved trains and clocks (probably because they were mechanical) and at last count had 41 clocks in the house. You never wanted to call the house on the hour.
His smile was contagious, and he leaves us with wonderful memories until we meet again.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 3-8PM, with a Vigil Service at 7PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 N. Harvey Lake Rd., Highland, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 11AM.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Am. Heart Assoc. or Am. Cancer Society. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
