Obituary for Joshua Ryan Sellers

Joshua Ryan Sellers, a 28 year old and resident of Farmington, died in an accidental drowning on July 31, 2011. Josh was born on April 22, 1983, in Pontiac, Michigan; grew up on Lake Sherwood and attended Lakewood Elementary School. Josh was a well respected athlete at Lakeland High School and a valued member of the football, lacrosse and baseball teams before his graduation in 2001. A Spartan through and through, he loved Michigan State University and any sporting event that gave him the chance to root for the green and white. Josh graduated from MSU in 2005 with a degree in Finance and began his career with Flagstar Bank and was most recently a Senior Underwriter at the corporate offices in Troy, Michigan.

Known as "Joshi" to his mom, he was a bright, fun, vibrant young man who enjoyed music and traveling and was taken from this life much too soon.

He leaves his parents, Scott Sellers and Deb Matson; siblings, Jason, Jordan, and Courtnee Sellers; Meghan and Ryan Matson and their father, Jeff Matson; grandparents, Dorothy and Ray Brown, Richard and Janet Sellers; aunts and uncles, Kathy and Gary Brooks, Cathy and Ray Steadman, and Linda Durham; cousins, Austin, Logan, and Dylan Brooks, Chris and Nick Songer, Keith Durham and many, many dear friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Highland United Methodist Church, 680 W. Livingston Road, Highland, on Friday, August 5, at 11AM. Burial will follow at Milford Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Thursday 2-9PM. Memorials may be made to Youth with a Mission. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
