GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Karl B. Prescher, 82, of Milford, passed away on December 1, 2021. He'll be met in the Lord's house by his father and mother, Bernard and Victoria Prescher, his sisters, Kay "Thorn Blossom" Tewksbury and Del Cunningham, and father- and mother-in-law, Bernard and Agnes Bartnik.
He is survived by Linda, his devoted wife of 60 years. Karl and Linda have three kids, Kurt (Rhonda) Prescher of Hollywood, MD, Amy (Matt) Nevison of Houghton Lake, and Lisa (Ken) Nguyen of Livonia; grandchildren, Katie (Sean) Galvin, Spencer Prescher, Travis Keown, Cpl. Remy Keown, USMC, Private 1st Class Bradley Keown, USMC, and Colin and Maura Nguyen; great-grandchildren, Harlow and Alister Galvin.
He is also survived by his brother Rob (Nancy) Prescher.
Karl enjoyed a 20+ year retirement from GMAC Insurance, a career that spanned nearly 40 years. He also served for many years on the Milford Township Board of Review.
His job included frequent travel and moved his family around the country: Grand Rapids; Midland; South Lyon; Slidell, Louisiana; Lancaster, California; and finally Milford, which he and Linda have called home for nearly 28 years. Karl and Linda spent summer weekends on the Muskegon River in Stanwood, and for 15 years they were "Snow Birds" in Orange Beach, Alabama and belonged to the Michigan Club there.
Whether he was hunting with Kurt, chaperoning the marching band in Mardi Gras parades or attending every marching band performance, concert, sporting event or graduation, Karl could be counted on to be there whenever possible for his kids and grandkids. He took great pride in seeing their accomplishments.
Karl was an accomplished woodworker by hobby, and enjoyed golf (he even got a hole-in-one) and dinners out with friends. Traveling with Linda was a lifelong joy.
