Born at the family home on Hickory Ridge Road on February 5, 1927, she was the daughter of William and Anna (Lueder) Charlick. Elmer planted trees, served on the building committee for West Highland Baptist Church, and worked a variety of jobs including time at Ford's, the Gamble Store, Vagabond Coach, masonry and carpentry work, eighteen years at Numatics in Highland; Kathleen gardened, quilted, canned fruit and kept house while together they raised their four sons, their marriage lasting until Elmers death in 1977. In the 1980s and early 90s she worked as a teller at Michigan National Bank on Milford Road at Lone Tree and worked Red Cross blood drives and township elections for many years. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Kathleen Hill was a life-long member of West Highland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years.
